ONE RIVER, 4TH CROSSING TO GRUENE
In May 2015 a ten year drought was broken and massive flooding hit the Texas hill country. While most of the rivers in the Texas Hill were devastated by the flooding the lower Guadalupe was relatively unscathed because Canyon Damn held the flood waters back for almost 2 weeks while the waters down stream receded. Then the Core of Engineers started releasing 5500 cfs from the flood gates and what you see is the result. I am usually not a big fan of damns but in this case this time, this one worked well. At least for the humans down stream.
